French Angora Bunnies Day 37: Back in order

We have now gotten the bunny cages glued together and back up to a more stable arrangement. We have gotten two kittens, Attila (Tila a maine coon) and Minion (Mini a black shorthair). They were adopted from our local animal shelter which is bursting with kittens and cats. We are thinking of getting our sheep and chickens soon and will be doing some heavy house arranging in the next month.

The bunnies love the new arrangement and we are restarting the barley system. We got the new trays in and the drains for the system. Hopefully that works better then the previous version. So I will be updating soon with pictures!

Bunnies, dust and angora...

I have been working hard to make my crafting room the way I want it. It is really hard in a house where you have to get rid of more stuff than your actually planning on putting in it to be able to make it as clean as possible. So I am cleaning out all the dust bunnies in the back porch as I am thinking of how to setup my space for crafting and my business.

As for the angoras they are all doing well. Pictures will be up later tonight on Ceaberry's Haberdashery blog since we are still getting them situated. They will be on my next videocast at the weekend.
So for now I can tell you we have FOUR new bunnies that have made it to the ranch: Cinna-Bun, a fawn buck; Honey-Bun, a black doe; Audrey, a chocolate agouti doe; and Sandy, an ermine or a chocolate pearl doe. All are settling in and we have new cages on their way tonight so pictures to come soon! These are all French angora bunnies and they are beyond soft and cute!

I will be doing a new videocast soon so check back later in the week for that!

Settling in

I hope that my silence hasn't worried anyone. We made it to the USA safe and sound and mostly intact.
To recap what the last 12 days has been like:

  1. Simba actually got loose from the cargo hold, but was rescued by Mr. Native Farmer. I had to go to A&E (the ER room to the people in the USA) due to the nasty bites that were inflicted on me by my scared kitty. He made it on the plane and made it to the USA, they lost his paperwork so I had to wait but we finally got my traumatised kitty. He is settling in nicely and hopefully him and Mouse can become friends... Right at the moment they are tolerating each other.
  2. We made it with few bumps and bruises and quickly got sick once we got back so we are both recovering from colds. My stuff made it without harm to the USA. We got MARRIED on the 7th of June!!
  3. We are moving out a bunch of stuff from his parents out of this house. Let me tell you, some things should not be undertaken lightly and moving out over 50 years worth of hoarding is one of them. We just now got the kitchen cleaned out. Next is the back porch where my stuff and business will be going. Then it is the basement... there are jars under there that are from the 80s (that's 30 year old canned goods).
  4. This Sunday (the 16th of June) we are going up the Abounding Farm in PA to got get some angora rabbits!
  5. The updates for the shop will be at: Ceaberry's Haberdashery. The farm updates will be at: Circle 4 Ranch. You can find me at the places linked on the side bar!

So much to do...

So I know it has been a few weeks since you have heard from me last. I am busy behind the scenes doing loads of things for the move back to the USA. Why so soon you might ask? Well, we are actually now leaving at the end of May. My shop will still have everything (including new things) half priced until July 31st.

So let's break it down:

Knitting:

  • Evenstar
    • Oh evenstar how you will never end! As of writing this i am on row 66 of 72 for the main body then its 3000 beads and 56 repeats later and should be off my needles.
  • Still light is in HIBERNATION
  • Cardigan for Mr. Native Farmer -- hibernating until Evenstar is DONE.
  • 2 linen/cotton hats (Jared Flood's Turn a square) in blue are DONE
  • A Wind and Coil slouchy hat in the Franklin colorway DONE
  • Plans for many more projects in the future.
Spinning:
  • I finished many of my singles and I have dyed some new fibre to spin up (like I needed more right??).
  • Plans on dividing up the yarn and seeing how much I need to spin in the next 30 days!
PhD
Yeah, for those who are interested I am in my Results Chapter (thats 5 out of 8), with a submission deadline of March next year.

  • Stitch Markers
    • I will be making some more stitch markers in the near future, including snagless, sea glass, and fun sets.
  • Fibre
    • I will be holding off on fibre and batts for now... more on that later.
  • Yarn
    • I have some EXCITING new bases and some good old standbys in spring/summer colorways! Look for those later next week.
  • Hand-spun
    • I will be putting up my hand-spun for sale periodically.
  • SALE!!! There is a 50% off sale already on everything in my shop and if you are a member of the ravelry group you'll find a further code for more off.

So that is what has been happening behind the scenes... now just to let you know that today it has been hailing (yes HAILING) on and off today and there are two videos below to prove it.
